A lady with arthritis background is facing a peculiar problem viz. feels paralytic condition as soon as she goes to the crowded market places and also while walking on a smooth floor surfaces particularly in a shopping mall . In both the cases, initially she feels weakening in the strength of both the legs- thigh muscles, knees and calves. Slowly she totally loses strength on the legs and compels to sit down or comes out of that particular area and gets relief. She does not feel any giddiness at that situation. She finds some difficulty on walking in closed-eye condition. Are these neurological problem? Vertin tablet is prescribed for her to get rid of any vertigo problem. Would any member guide me so that she can get rid of the above problem ?

" initially she feels" is what you said as the cause. This cause is expected to be removed from the mind level. The the physical symptoms should vanish. The physical symptoms of Argentum Nit .are
Extremities.--Cannot walk with eyes closed. Trembling, with general debility. Paralysis, with mental and abdominal symptoms. Rigidity of calves. Debility in calves especially. Walks and stands unsteadily, especially when unobserved. Numbness of arms. Post-diphtheritic paralysis (after Gelsemium).

I hope this is the symptom which you have nerrated. To add to that further Gelsemium can be used and Conium Mac which has the following symptoms :
CONIUM MAC:
The ascending paralysis it produces, ending in death by failure of respiration, shows the ultimate tendency of many symptoms produced in the provings, for which Conium is an excellent remedy, such as difficult gait, trembling, sudden loss of strength while walking, painful stiffness of legs. etc. Such a condition is often found in old age, a time of weakness, languor, local congestions, and sluggishness. This is the special environment that Conium choose to manifest its action. It corresponds to the debility, hypochondriasis, urinary troubles, weakened memory, sexual debility found here. Trouble at the change of life, old and bachelors. Growth of tumors invite it also. General feeling as if bruised by blows. Great debility in the morning in bed. Weakness of body and mind, trembling, and palpitation. Cancerous diathesis. Arterio-sclerosis. Caries of sternum. Enlarged glands. Acts on the glandular system, engorging and indurating it, altering its structure like scrofulous and cancerous conditions. Tonic after grippe. Insomnia of multiple neuritis.
Extremities.--Heavy, weary, paralyzed; trembling; bands unsteady; fingers and toes numb. Muscular weakness, especially of lower extremities. Perspiration of hands. Putting feet on chair relieves pain.

I think Argentum Nitricum should be a good beginning.

Argentum Nit 30 is started. Most of its symptoms are in line with that of the patient. It is learnt that Argentum Nit is an important remedy for fears and phobias In this case the feeling of paralytic condition and losing of balance in crowded places as well as walking on smooth surface are all part of phobias ? Fear of crowd may be a phobia but how the smooth frictionless surface affects on the mind of a person creating unbalance condition. Is it due to her imaginary fear ?

It is usually Vata constitution. It is more than the smooth surface, the smooth surface plus the a.c. in the malls etc. It is a weird feeling only and actually does not fall. There can also be feelings like walking on cotton, a sense of senselessness., that is the best that I can describe that feeling. I can only ascribe that to the contraction of the blood vessels.
with best wishes.

The patient was out of station for some days. She has used Agaricus Mus 30 one dose yesterday. She feels better mentally. This remedy worked better than the Argentum Nit which she had taken earlier. Will she continue Agaricus Mus 30 till she feels any betterment in her physical level ?

on my experiment on myself, I have found that Agaricus is a medicine that has to be used well adhering to the classical style and not to be repeated too often. Because it does give some discomforting symptoms if repeated too often. I would suggest that you wait until the complete work of the dose you have given is over before you repeat another dose. with best wishes.

The patient used one dose of Agaricus Mus 30 on fortnight ago.She feels slightly better with this medicine. Her phobia in a crowded places is improved. But whenever she gets down from a running vehicle she looses her balance and suffers from fear of falling down . Will she take another dose of Agaricus Mus 30 now ? Do you suggest to add any other medicine along with Agaricus Mus ?

Everybody loses their balance when getting down from a running vehicle. Why should anybody get down from a running vehicle at all. It is against law too......????

Did you mean when she alight from a vehicle after travelling for a long time? Please clarify.
