Dear Dr.Udaya,

Please find below the details of my husband's health issues. I had him fill out the questionnaire himself to provide an accurate picture.

1: Age/Sex/Country/Climate
38/ M/ California, USA/ Prolonged Spring Season, Moderate climate, Currently Raining

2: Current complaint - from how long

1) Dry Skin in a circular patch on the inside of the Left Index finger in the middle of the finger. Also, a dry patch on the middle finger of the right hand close to the nail. ( Please see the Photographs sent to your email). Initially we thought it was caused by exposure to water while doing household chores like loading the dishwasher etc. But even with wearing protective gloves, the patch seems to not didappear.
2) Scalp Psoriasis: First manifested itself in 1999 just before my marriage and has been progressively getting worse. Initially it was a patch behind the left ear. With Salycylic acid and other treatments, it was under control. After a few years, it started in the front of my forehead and behind my years. On application of topical creams, the condition is under control but flares up quickly. The front portion of forehead and area behind ears becomes very itchy and becomes red and bloody on scratching. There are also lesions with silvery scales on other areas of the front and side portions of the head. (have sent some pics)
3) High BP: I was diagnosed with high Blood Pressure since a very young age. First discovered when I was 20. I have been taking medication since 2002 to keep it under control.

3: Current medicine you are taking

• Kertyol-s shampoo and and Clobestol spray for Scalp Psoriasis: Don’t use the medication everyday. Try to give a gap of 2-3 days in between.
• Lisinopril for Blood Pressure- 1 pill a day every day
• For the last 3 months, been taking Arnica 30 in the wet dose twice a day.
4: Sign & Symptom of disease
Scalp Scoriasis:The lesions on the hairline near the forehead and area behind ears and other parts of the scalp become very itchy and becomes red and bloody on scratching. There are also silvery scales formed on the front and side portions of the head.
5: Brief medical history:

All the details have been covered above. Occasionally tend to have Nose Bleeds.

6: Family Back Ground
Mother – has Arthritis. Diagnosed with diabetes at age 50.
Father – High BP from age 50
Maternal grandfather and Uncle have psoriasis but not my parents.
7: Education and Nature of Profession of Patient
Post Graduate, Software Professional.
9: Desires and aversion of food
Like Spicy food and Indian sweets.
10: Mind-behavior, anger, irritability, hurry, impatient…etc.. How you are peculiar from other person, public speaking or not .. You can describe all the detail about behaviour, love and affection. For a good prescription mental detail is must be.
• Passionate about work. Take great pride in success at work. Tend to get angry when people do not behave according to my liking especially my family members.
• When I get angry, my blood pressure shoots high. Blood seems to rush to my brain and I become very animated. I hide the emotion in office but not at home.
• I am not shy but not out going either. Try to resolve matters without open confrontation.
• Once I don’t like a person, I disconnect from them. Have few close friends that I open up to with personal details.
• I believe in hard work and always want to gain others respect at office by going above and beyond.
• Cannot bear any negative thoughts about my mother and son.
• I like to be left alone when I deal with negative emotions.

11: What makes it worse and what makes it better
• Stress and Weight gain seem to make it worse.
• Keeping my hair short seems to help with the lesions.
12: Thirst/Tongue/diabetic:
Don’t drink too much water as I already tend to urinate frequently due to the BP medication.
No diabetes.
No coating on the tongue.

Please help him.

Warm Regards,
Skill

I have seen the splendid photographs. I must admire the remarkable photography!

Start treatment with single dose of Sulphur 10M . Three drops in one ounce water once. Wait for three days and start with Chrysarobinum 6C three times a day for three days. Use Chrysarobinum 10 drops in vaceline at one isolated spot and check skin sensitivity, after a day if no skin reactions are seen use it all over the places where there are scabs/spots.
If there is any aggravation noticed after Sulphur use Nux Vomica 30 three times a day for one day.

Please report after each medicine. with best wishes.

Thank you very much, Dr.Udaya.

It will take us some time to procure these medicines. So, the remdies to be procured are
Sulphur 10M in Ethanol pack.
Chrysarobinum6C in Dry dose as well as Ethanol pack. Is this correct?

This is a big problem I am facing with the in.com.
It goes into the draft folder. I will have to go back and check and I think it is going to take some time.

I will repeat what I recollect. I asked you to start with Sulphur 10M because the lower potencies may make more surfacing of the ailment to skin level. Since you have already given him three doses of Sulphur 30 which in fact is causing that mild aggravation, you may continue with Chrysarobinum6C as suggested by you in the same order.

I also mentioned there my difficulties in continuity with the case. The case being devided between here and there and my replies cannot be seen on the same page, and I have to go into "sent" file to retrieve and check, it is not possible to continue treatment there as I do not have any continuity or backgrounds for suggesting medicines. I think you should be continuing here. with best wishes.

Dear Dr.Udaya,

I agree with you on the continuity problem. Sorry for the confusion. Will post updates here.

Here is a recap of the treatment so far, per your recommedation :
He has completed a 3 day course of Nux Vom30 and then you had suggested 1 dose of Nux Vom 200/ day for 3 days. we have completed that.
then he took a single dose of Psorinum 1M.
You had suggested a weekly dose of Psorinum 1M and if there is itching in between, to take sulphur 30 on alternate days. That is why he took the two doses of Sulphur 30.
Since the last dose of Psorinum 1M was taken on 2/24, should he take Posrinum1M first and then start the 3 day course of Chrsyarobinum 6c or should we just go ahead and start with Chrsyarobinum? also, what about Nux?

Meanwhile. I am going to try and obtain Suplur 10M which did not arrive in the group of meds.

Thank you for your patience.

March 8 2010
Dear Dr.Udaya,

The 3 day course of Chrysarobinum 6C has been completed. After doing a tets on one patch with no reaction, he has also been using Chrysarobinum laced Vaseline on the Spots (Since all the lesions except the one on the finger are on the scalp, it's proving to be a challenge to wash off vasline from the hair )
So far it seems like there is a reduction in the scales and the spots on the forehead look smoother but overall there still quite a bit of itching. Also, the reddish tinge hasn't reduced.

The circular patch on the finger is very different compared to the lsions on the Scalp in that the there is lot of skin peeling and the skin is very rough. with the application of the vaseline, it seems a little bit smoother.

Please advise on the next steps.

Best Regards,
SKill

If there is any signs of inflammation, you should stop the external use, otherwise continue using it. Use three doses of Nux Vomica 200 for one day 6 hourly gap. and report.

Dr.Udaya,

After teh 3 doses of Nux Vom 200, there is a significant reduction in reddish hue of the spots especially along the hairline on the forehead.

There still seems ot be a bit of itchiness (could hear him scratching in his sleep) but not as much as before.

The thickness of the scales has reduced but there is still lot of dryness on the patches and white scales are forming.

The finger looks slightly better.

Skill
