Dear Dr.Udaya,
Please find below the details of my husband's health issues. I had him fill out the questionnaire himself to provide an accurate picture.
1: Age/Sex/Country/Climate
38/ M/ California, USA/ Prolonged Spring Season, Moderate climate, Currently Raining
2: Current complaint - from how long
1) Dry Skin in a circular patch on the inside of the Left Index finger in the middle of the finger. Also, a dry patch on the middle finger of the right hand close to the nail. ( Please see the Photographs sent to your email). Initially we thought it was caused by exposure to water while doing household chores like loading the dishwasher etc. But even with wearing protective gloves, the patch seems to not didappear.
2) Scalp Psoriasis: First manifested itself in 1999 just before my marriage and has been progressively getting worse. Initially it was a patch behind the left ear. With Salycylic acid and other treatments, it was under control. After a few years, it started in the front of my forehead and behind my years. On application of topical creams, the condition is under control but flares up quickly. The front portion of forehead and area behind ears becomes very itchy and becomes red and bloody on scratching. There are also lesions with silvery scales on other areas of the front and side portions of the head. (have sent some pics)
3) High BP: I was diagnosed with high Blood Pressure since a very young age. First discovered when I was 20. I have been taking medication since 2002 to keep it under control.
3: Current medicine you are taking
• Kertyol-s shampoo and and Clobestol spray for Scalp Psoriasis: Don’t use the medication everyday. Try to give a gap of 2-3 days in between.
• Lisinopril for Blood Pressure- 1 pill a day every day
• For the last 3 months, been taking Arnica 30 in the wet dose twice a day.
4: Sign & Symptom of disease
Scalp Scoriasis:The lesions on the hairline near the forehead and area behind ears and other parts of the scalp become very itchy and becomes red and bloody on scratching. There are also silvery scales formed on the front and side portions of the head.
5: Brief medical history:
All the details have been covered above. Occasionally tend to have Nose Bleeds.
6: Family Back Ground
Mother – has Arthritis. Diagnosed with diabetes at age 50.
Father – High BP from age 50
Maternal grandfather and Uncle have psoriasis but not my parents.
7: Education and Nature of Profession of Patient
Post Graduate, Software Professional.
9: Desires and aversion of food
Like Spicy food and Indian sweets.
10: Mind-behavior, anger, irritability, hurry, impatient…etc.. How you are peculiar from other person, public speaking or not .. You can describe all the detail about behaviour, love and affection. For a good prescription mental detail is must be.
• Passionate about work. Take great pride in success at work. Tend to get angry when people do not behave according to my liking especially my family members.
• When I get angry, my blood pressure shoots high. Blood seems to rush to my brain and I become very animated. I hide the emotion in office but not at home.
• I am not shy but not out going either. Try to resolve matters without open confrontation.
• Once I don’t like a person, I disconnect from them. Have few close friends that I open up to with personal details.
• I believe in hard work and always want to gain others respect at office by going above and beyond.
• Cannot bear any negative thoughts about my mother and son.
• I like to be left alone when I deal with negative emotions.
11: What makes it worse and what makes it better
• Stress and Weight gain seem to make it worse.
• Keeping my hair short seems to help with the lesions.
12: Thirst/Tongue/diabetic:
Don’t drink too much water as I already tend to urinate frequently due to the BP medication.
No diabetes.
No coating on the tongue.
Please help him.
Warm Regards,
Skill
