Hello Dr. Udaya,

I have been suffering from acne and am very much hopeful that you will be able to solve my problem as I have heard a lot about you from my cousin.
I am using arnica 6c daily but i dont see the result and I am posting my details below.

1: Age/Sex/Country/Climate
I am a 27 year old Indian woman. Right now I live in California

2: Current complaint - from how long
I have had problem with acne since I was 13, 14 years old. I am recently suffering from it again since 4 weeks.

3: Current medicine you are taking
I am using arnica 6c twice daily since 3 weeks and have also applied it direcly on the affected area. I sometimes use a topical ointment which has clindamycin, nicotinamide in the morning and adaferin gel at nights.

4: Sign & Symptom of disease
I usually get pimples around my cheeks. They do not heal fast,
and the ones I am getting now have some pus at the tip. I have fair skin and
my face seems reddish even when I don’t have pimples. I have oily skin and its more evident after I get up in the morning. I get blackheads and whiteheads near my cheeks and nose area.

5: Brief medical history
I have gone to a dermatologist on and off since I first started getting acne.
My acne was not very bad then. The first doctor I went used to give me some topical ointments which had benzoyl peroxide, Clindamycin etc, for application
in the morning and nights. I have never had clear skin, now I have scars and some open pores on my cheeks caused by the acne over all the years.
When I was going to get married, suddenly my acne became much worse and I consulted a cosmetologist then. She put me on ginette and Isotroin for six months and said that I shud not conceive as long as Im using them. I used them for six months without knowing about any potential side effects they may have and my skin got better. It stayed like that for about a year and then after that again my acne started getting worse to such an extent that everybody used to notice my acne first and would ask if everything is fine with me.I was in India then and so I consulted the cosmetologist again and she again suggested Isotroin for me.I was reluctant to use it and she then put me on minocycline for 6 months. Now it has been an year and i see the acne coming back again.I usually get it around my cheeks. I have around 4, 5 now and they show no signs of healing soon and some have pus at the tip.
I have been using arnica6c twice daily since 3 weeks but i dont see improvement in my condition as I still have the pimples and new ones are also coming up.
I did not have regular menses, actually the menstrual cycle was a long one, it was once in 45, 50 days and the flow is moderate with periods lasting for 5 days.I have had an elective non surgical abortion done 3 months back. After that I noticed my periods coming every month(more regularly), but in that order i shud have already got my periods about 6 days back this month.

6: Family Back Ground
My mother never had any acne problem, but my aunt has and I take after her.
My mother had migraine problem which has got better now(touchwood).

7: Education and Nature of Profession of Patient
I have done my PG and I work in the IT industry.
9: Desires and aversion of food
I like sweets and ice creams, do not have aversion for any type of food.

10: Mind-behavior, anger, irritability, hurry, impatient…etc..
I notice that I am in a hurry and impatient now(which has not been so earlier i think).
I am shy, reserved and sensitive by nature. Sometimes,I have the habit of grinding my teeth when thinking about something.
11: What makes it worse and what makes it better
I am not able to decide this.
12: Thirst/Tongue/diabetic
My thirst is normal and I am not diabetic

All the medicines I have used till now have only provided temporary relief and the problem keeps coming back again.
Please suggest me the best course of action.
Thanks a lot for your patience.

Regards,
Madhu

Dr. Udaya,

I have gone through the remedies suggested by you and below are the ones i feel are agreeable with my symptoms:
CALCAREA SULPHURICA
Face.--Pimples and pustules on the face.
Some of the pimples have pus in them(cream colour)
Female.--Menses late
Eyes.--Inflammation of the eyes.
Many times i feel my eyes are tired, red and burning.
After washing the face with water, my eyes become v red but they become normal after some time.

HEPAR SULPHUR:
Mind: Dejected and Sad.
Sometimes i feel sad for the slightest reason and at times without any reason too. But it is not serious and i come out of it on making an attempt.
Eyes: Eyes and lids are red and inflamed.
Female: Menses late and scanty
Menses are late, the flow is normal.

BERBERIS AQUIFOLIUM:
Face.--Acne. Blotches and pimples. Clears the complexion.
Skin.--Pimply, dry, rough, scaly
My face is oily. Rest of the body gets dry in winter but not the face. I get acne only on the face.

None of the other symptoms are matching. I dont have any digestion problems. I sleep well. But i tend to procrastinate a lot. Also whenever i have to wash my hands or feet, i have a strong urge to do so with hot water.

I am continuing to use arnica 6c and have completed the 3 day course of pulsatilla but my menses have not come yet. It has been 39 days since my last period. My pimples have reduced a bit in size.
Even though i feel these are the remedies that agree with my symptoms, i am not v sure and would like you to please decide the best one for me.
Please let me know if you need any further information from me.
Thank you very much for your patience and support.

Regards,
Madhu

Dr. Udaya,

I have taken thuja30 on first day and nat mur 30 for 3 days and am reporting on
the fourth day.My menses have started today morning. And am happy to say that there are no
new pimples coming up, the old ones are reducing in size gradually.
I had the 4 pimples on the face earlier, now 2 of them are almost gone and the other 2 seem
to have little pus at the tip and are taking bit more time to come down but they are not as
inflammed and big as they were.
The skin seems to be improving slowly and the face is not very oily now.Other than these,I have not noticed any other
changes.
Please let me know the next step to be taken. I appreciate your help a lot.

Regards,
Madhu

Use Thuja 1M once in two weeks. Use Natrum Mur 10M once in two weeks upto three doses.

Use Beriberis Aquafolia Q and Echinasia Q 10 drops each in one ounce water as face wash. If skin is getting dry,. use Glycerine instead of water or Mustar Oil or Oilve Oil base and wash it after some time. Try the medicine on one spot for one day before applying it all over the face.

Thuja itself will remove the scars or else add silicea 6X biochemic for a few days three times a day.

Dr. Udaya,
I dont have the medicines in these potencies with me right now. I will procure them and will start using them, but i have a doubt regarding their usage. How much gap should there be between taking Thuja and Nat mur? Suppose, I take Thuja on a monday and will take it again after 2 weeks, then when should Nat mur be taken. Also the one ounce water, should it be used to just splash the face with it after washing with soap. Please let me know so that I will follow your instructions correctly. Thank you very much.

February 16 2010
There should be not less than 24 hours gap between one dose of Thuja and the next dose of Natrum Mur. The next doses will automatically fall on days with the same gap.

You can use a cotton swab and dip it in the water and wipe gently over the face or the areas concerned. If you are using glycerine or oils or even lemon juice, you may wait until ten or fifteen minutes before you wash it off. with best wishes.

Dr. Udaya,

I have received the medicines and I will start using them from tomorrow. Just a small clarification, i will use thuja one dose tmrw and natrum mur one dose day after tomorrow and repeat it again twice with a gap of two weeks. Is this correct? It is one dose each time and repeat it for 3 times? Please let me know. Thank you very much for your guidance and support.

Dr. Udaya,
I have already taken 3 doses of Thuja30 for one day followed by 3 doses of Natrum Mur 30 for 3 days earlier as suggested by you. After that you had suggested the following for me.
"Use Thuja 1M once in two weeks. Use Natrum Mur 10M once in two weeks upto three doses." As I dint have these potencies with me, I had to get them from India and there has been time gap because of that. Please let me know if I have to take Thuja 1M and Natrum Mur 10 M now or if i should again take Thuja30 and Natrum Mur 30. Kindly mention the dosage. Thank you,
Warm Regards,
Madhu

Madhu,
Mostly I have barely enought time to have a fast reading of what you write. To go back into details are too difficult. So If you give a self contained report every time I would appreciate. I am sorry I gave you a suggestion according to your question of eighth march. When I read it with the previous psots, yes, you are right. Your explanation of 8th March how to take 1m is absolutly right. Please go ahead. with regards.

Hi Dr. Udaya,

I am taking Thuja 1M and Natmur 10M once in 2 weeks. I am supposed to take 3 doses with a gap of 2 weeks. I completed 2 doses and will take the next dose after 2 weeks. Just Wanted to give you an update. There has not been any significant improvement in my skin condition. I had got a big pimple on my cheek 1 week back and its slowly coming down now. I have got my menses for this month, there was a gap of 32 days, so they are pretty much on time. Dint notice any other changes. Will keep you posted.
Thanks,

March 25 2010
Ok. Now use the following medicine in between the Natrum Mur and Thuja therapy. One dose of Sulphur 30 in the morning around 10 a.m. and one dose of Pulsatilla in the evening any time. Use them for one week and report. After third dose of Natrum Mur and thuja at higher potency, you may return back to the 30C potency for few more doses and stop it. with best wishes.Medicines should be used in consultation with a homeopathic doctor.
