The sea is salt and salt are your tears; salt is used to preserve your food. Natrium muriaticum, being the homoeopatic salt, is a medicine for preserved and frozen grief and suppressed emotions. People who need this remedy often have had a grief too big to work through, so they stored it somewhere in their personality, consciously or unconsciously. They don't want to talk about it and often weeping is impossible for them. They feel deeply hurt inside. In order to prevent further attacks on their soul they build an emotional ivory tower around themselves. This means that it are quite vulnerable, closed people who find it difficult to show their emotions and who keep other people at a certain distance.
Natrium muriaticum-characters have something fine; usually it are sensitive, polite and very helpful people who will do anything to avoid hurting others, because they know so very well what it means to be denied or to feel damaged. They don't accept help from others, they value their independence and they dislike consolation or advice, because that can irritate them. If someone has caused them serious grief, they can completely erase this person from their lives. Forgiving is out of the question. Like salt-pillars these people have something fixed over them like rigid ideas, unchangeable decisions or fixed opinions. ("This is how I feel about it!" Discussion closed)
In Natrium muriaticum emotional pain has become a scar, a damaged part that will remain forever. And like people consider a scar a part of their body, Natrium muriaticum considers his grief to be an irremovable part of his life; somehow he has decided that this past will accompany him forever. That explains why he cannot accept sympathy or consolation.
Since the past seems to be filled with grief, disappointment or rancour, Natrium Muriaticum focuses very much on his hopes and ideals for a better future. Often they try to make this world a better place in their role of teacher, adviser, counselor or they stand up against injustice.
These people like sad, beautiful music or sad movies. They can cry about the grief depicted in these movies, but not about their own grief. Natrium muriaticum can suffer from a severe mental exhaustion as well as a physical exhaustion. They show a nervous tension. They can experience severe hopelessness and depression.
The Sun, our big source of life force, melts down the salt. So Natrium muriaticum-personalities develop many complaints in the sun and in warm surroundings: headaches, migraine, herpes zoster around the mouth, and their symptoms aggravate during daytime. And of course suppressed emotions cause health-problems, like headaches, skin-eruptions or high blood pressure. Often their bodies hold up moist (oedema, inability to sweat, no menstruation, severe constipation or not enough urinating).
At the seashore they feel better or much worse. (The sea symbolizes the water-element: our feelings and emotions). They have a preference for salty food and fish. Open air and cold water make them feel better.

I am posting a girilal's post from other forum.
How to make Natrium Muricatum at home
I have used this homemade remedy on my patieces with great success.
Dissolve 1 tea spoon of salt in a cup of water.
Add about 1 drops of it in the 1 liter of Mineral water and Naturm Muricatum (approximately) 7X or 4C is ready.
To make further high potency, drain out the bottle (assuming couple of dropso of liquid are still hanging in the bottle, fill it up again and shake/bang it vigorously several time.
Use two liter empty soda bottle, half filled and add a drop of Phospho Soda. Shake it vigorously and also bang the bottle on some soft surface for about twenty times.
Do not take more then 3 drops. Best results are seen if taken half hour after the food.

I would like to record the case of a patient who was a Type II Diabetic who had been advised by her doctor to reduce her intake of salt in her food and she was on an almost salt free diet. She was taking Metformin twice daily and discovered shortly after she started on my Arnica 30c therapy that she was able to reduce the drug to the minimum as the Arnica seemed to be able to control and stabilize her Blood Sugar.
She discovered that she got violent cramps of her calf muscles two or three times at night and had to stand up to relieve the pain. I conjectured that these cramps were due to the lack of salt in her diet and gave her Nat Mur 3x to replace the lack of salt in her system. She reported that this stopped her cramps immediately and she takes 2 tablets every night before sleep. She informed me that she is dependent on her Nat Mur without which she cannot sleep soundly as her cramps return if she forgets to take them.

Dear Joe, this is Very informative. If she uses homemade sea water to 3X she may see more wonders. Sea water is a one composite remedy, it not only contains Nat. Mur. but almost all compounds of magnesium plus more.

Dear Girilal
Your suggestion of giving her potentized sea water is interesting but the problem will be to get pure uncontaminated sea water which will not be easy around Colombo. The problem is that our sewers discharge directly into the sea and the sea water will not be safe for any homeopathic purpose.
My patient suffered from frequent attacks of Cellulitis some years ago and she had been hospitalized on 3 occasions within the space of about 2 years when she developed a high temperature on each occasion after her lesions which usually were infected had to be treated with Augmentin which left her in a very bad state upon discharge from hospital. She was desperate for some drug to prevent her frequent episodes of Cellulitis but her doctors could only treat the disease after it was established as they did not have any to prevent it.
It was then that I thought of my favourite remedy Arnica and gave her the 6c potency in the dry dose purely on an experimental basis as I had never used it before to treat this disease. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Arnica helped her to overcome her Cellulitis as the familiar signs of the onset of this ailment never returned and she can be considered cured. I believe that Arnica promotes the flow of blood throughout the body and especially in the capillaries under the skin which in the case of this patient could have been blocked in some manner which resulted in her frequent attacks of Cellulitis. I also use Arnica 6c to treat chronic cases of Eczema and have had remarkable success in curing this disease which many skin specialists, ayurvedic physicians and even homeopaths had failed to cure.
My patient who is now 81 years of age takes Arnica 30c on a daily basis and this helps her with her Diabetes and also keeps her Cellulitis under control.
I have recorded the use of Arnica in this somewhat unorthodox manner to cure both Cellulitis and Eczema on many Homeopathic Forums in the hope that others who read this case history may also choose to use Arnica in the manner that I have , spite of the fact that its usuage does not conform to the norms of classical homeopathy.

Unless we use the original Sea salt which is a rarity these days, ( in tamil we say kal uppu), it may not be give the best results. The original sea salt, infact contains about 96 different minerals, where as the table salt which we use contains, only a dead NaCl ( unusable with loads of aluminium due to preparation and packaging techniques used) and non of the natural other minerals. The question is, how to get the pure Sea salt? The sea salt was never expected to be pure. It is this way today and as well as many years ago.

Himalyan salt, if at all, what the promoters claim is true,
It can be definitely be potentised to one's benefits.
Best salt, as I had mentioned earlier, is the sea salt prepared naturally by drying and using after purifying removing impurities. Also, please remeber, it would work better than Nat.mur available at homeopathic stores, as the seasalt or the himalayan salt also contains 84 other minerals. This includes, potassium, calcium, magnesium etc, hence we are potentising whole gamut of minerals whose benefits also, we would receive.
Best

thank you garcot.
When making this as a remedy at home, should one first prepare the saturated solution by heat dissolving? Then take 3 drops and dilute in one liter of water by vigorous shaking.
Generally this is what I have noticed in girilal's method of making the remedies. However he does not indicate anything about saturating any element before making a remedy. Since this is a salt easily soluble in water, I am curious if saturation is needed or not.
Please suggest.
thx
