June 8 2008
Sex: Male
Age: 28
Nature of work: Computer programming (and testing during software development)
Habits: Have habit to sit all day at work, eat two or three smaller meals per day, used to eat a lot of junk food in the past (more then a lot!).

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1.Describe your main suffering? - Painful soar throat all day long, .

2.What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? - Painful soar throat all day long, belching after a meal, acid reflux into throat and vocal coards, stoll once in 3 days, headache, 'spacey' feeling, bad breath, gas/bloating, Hiatal Hernia without stomach inflammation (2 gastro-endoscopies done to be sure), over-all bad feeling, diarrhea for a few days then constipation for few days, then all over again, intestal candida overgrowth (proven with stool samples 3 times) toenail fungus, severe post-nasal dripping (no allergies, tested)

3.What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? - Depression, feeling weak and old, difficulty concentrating, memory problems

4.What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? - Describe the sensation in your own words. - Painful throat, difficulty breathing and swallowing, burping like hell, lower abdominal pain, feeling acid in my throat, feel like my eyes are going to cry for no reason, pain all over my body

5.When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? - I had sinusitis and doctor treated me with antibiotics for 3 months, I felt post-nasal drip and bearly notecable acid reflux. After three months it's much worse! Since I stopped with antibiotics it's not better, but not worse eather.

6.Which time of the day you are worst? - In the morning and around 17h in the afternoon, but it's much worse in the morning

7.What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? I feel better when it's cold, feel much more acid reflux after eating but I feel it even if I don't eat. Tight clothing has no affect on my acid reflux. My throat feels better after drinking water, but not for long.

8.Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? - I think that no external stimuli is problem, I think that use of antibiotics and bad immunity is my main problem, and maybe lower esophageal sphincter relaxation but not much cause it's not visible on endoscopy.

9.When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? Cold but not to cold is best for me. I think that fresh air when cold is better for my condition.

10.Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc. - I am little moody, not to much, too nervous, quiet when in larger group of people, and from time that I got sick my easily irritable

One medicine at a time is 'proper' homeopathy. Reasonable gap should be given to assess the action of the remedy before moving on to a new one.

The prescriptions like one in the morning another at noon and the third one at night and to repeat them them in a cyclic form is likely to confuse the picture rather than helping the patient.

what are we going to do if this cycle for two days fail to relieve?

What are the options we are left with?

If a single remedy works but only temporarily, we have many options like increasing the frequency of administration, rising the potency, putting on a split dose etc.

All this flexibility is lost in multi drug therapy.

This is a time tested sequence. Like the classical sequence of
1. Sulphur-Calcarea Carb-Lycopodium
2. Sulphur -Sarasaparilla-Sepia.

Then there are remedies which complete successfully the theurapeutic action of the first remedy. If we decide on one remedy, complementary remedy has no meaning. These remedies are arrived at from clinical practice or experience and not by reading books.. Some of them are related in symptomology. There are several classes of complementary relationship. If relationship does not exist, antidot or inimical relationship will also not exist. Hahneman had himself in materia medica pura quoted several of these relationship.
Not to use one medicine alongwith another had initially cropped up from

i. the strong bias against the system prevailing during hahneman's time which forced him to go for this alternate therapy

ii. To start from a clean slate.

iii. The psycho that mixing medicines would not allow you to know the action taking place in the comination, which was thought to have been happing in the contemporary system of medicine of his time and he decided to find out something new.

iv. the psycho and fear that how each medicine would work. Unknown is always fear evoking. Particularly so, when the known system is thought to have all kinds of side effects.

v. Day by day new things were revealing and slowly those were being accepted.

vi. Mind should grow to the level of realising and excluding "not this, not this," and find out which remedy works how. If that is either not possible or is cumbersome, the straight forward and safe way is adopted which is one medicine at a time.

vii. What if no medicines are indicated as single remedy for an ailment, would you leave that patient without treatment or resort to medicines closer ?

viii. Some medicines occur together in nature, like Arsenic and Phosphorus or Nux Vomica and Ignatia. Their relationship is established.

ix. Sometimes it is established by the nature of the constituents like Badiaga and Iodium.

x. Ideally, "one remedy, one dose would cure" should cure, but most cases are so complicated by miasms, conventional therapy, toxic substances, artificial beverages, preserved foods, modern day vices, computer habits, using more than one remedy serially becomes necessary.

xi. It is good to look into the following complementary relationships then and add more from experiences. THERE IS ALWAYS A NEED TO DISCARD THE RIGIDITY OF THE MIND TO ACHIEVE FLEXIBILITY:

Antimonium Arsenicum Ipecacuanha
Apis mellifica and Natrum muriaticum
Argentum scinencia and phosphorus
Baryta Carb and Dulcamera
Carisbad and rhus Toxicodendron
Chamomilla and Magnisia Carbonica
China Officianalis and Ferrum Metallicum
Conium Maculatum and Baryta Muriatica
Cuprum Metallicum and Calcaria Carbonica
Iodium and Lycopodium Clavatum
Lachesis and Lycopodium Clavatum
Medorrhinum and Sulphur
Medorrhinum and Mercurius vivus
Natrium Sulphuricum and Thuja occidentalis
Opium and Plumbum metallicum
Petroleum and Sepia
Phosphorus and Carbo vegetabilis
Pulsatilla Nigrans and Kalium Sulphuricum
Sabina and Thuja occidentalis
Stannum metallicum and Pulsatilla nigricans

Then there are specific classes of complementary remedies according to acute and chronic cases like Aconitum Napillus and Sulphur: Arsenic Thuja; Nux Sepia: Pulsatilla -Silicea etc.

The one that I have prescribed is not a combination. These kind of remedies are called remedies in series:

For eg: Aconitum Napillus, Spongia tosta and Hepar Sulph.
ii. Allium Cepa Phsophurs and Sulphur
iii. Allium Cepa and Natrum Mur
iv. Arsenicum Album Thuja occidentalis and Tarentula hispanica
v. Ignatia Amera, Natrium Mur and Sepia.
vi. Pulsatilla nigricans, Silicea and Fluoricum acidum.

How does hiatus hernia occur. What candida infection could mean? What could be the chronic throat problem, are few pointers towards treatment. Have you seen the belching he is talking about, is sufficient to know the condition of his stomach. Anyhow I have not prescribed anything to him, for reasons but disseminated information, where such conditions have been addressed in the past. And advised him to see a doctor.

If we do not change from the books, according to individual presenting before us, the basic principle of homeopathy that each individual is different and should be treated differently becomes illogical.

Smile Smile Smile with regards.

Dear Udaya

I am glad that you are willing to debate the issue in the right spirit. Smile

Yes. There are complimentary remedies that can be used in a series like Sulphur, Calc and Lycopodium. These complimentary relationships come into picture only when the symptoms change to indicate the next medicine. Not automatically.

If we wait long enough on Sulphur a stage MAY come where the symptoms change to indicate Calcarea. Then and only then we can prescribe Calc with confidence and can be sure that the good action of Sulphur will not be negated and the cure will progress satisfactorily.

The knowledge of complimentary relationships, followers and the acute/chronic relationships of medicines aid to help the prescriber in the follow up. If he is armed with this information his search for the follower will be faster.

For example in the case of cough we know that Aconite, spongia and Hepar follow a certain trend, and if we know this, we will look into these medicines first before thinking of other remedies. In ninety out of hundred cases the symptoms will develop to indicate one of this trio. Having this knowledge will shorten the time a homeopath takes to search for the follower.
I know about Boeninghassen's famous cough powders but he insists that the next medicine in the series is to be given only if the symptoms change to indicate it.

I am not quoting from books without applying these postulates clinically. I test these concepts on myself and my family and friends and my dependence on a single medicine at a time have always yielded results without fail.

I could succesfully resolve diverse problems like chronic bloatedness (the patient was hospitalised twice to remove gas from the stomach through a tube and now she has forgotten all about it. She is cured.!! ) cervical displasia grade 3 (again a case recommended for immediate hysterectomy. Now she is hale and healthy with her uterus intact), cervical spondylosis, heel spurs, piles etc and countless cases of acute problems.

I was relatively new to homeopathy (started only four years back). If even a novice like me can get results with the 'one medicine at a time' aproach , why not others who are much more experienced.

People conveniently take the excuse of multi miasmatic influences, changing life styles to defend the poly therapy with homeopathic medicines. Hahn. himself visualised the possibility of multimiasms being present in a patient and he gave directions on how to handle them one at a time in his Organon as well as chronic diseases. It is not something new to justify the poly pharmacy.

We don't know precisely even now how homeopathic medicines really work. We know for sure that they do work through some unknown mechanism. As such is it not safe to stick to a single remedy and follow the 'traditional' approach which minimises the possible risks?

How can anyone foresee the results of giving too many medicines too quickly, when we really don't even know how these medicines work? How can one be absolutely sure that they can't harm?

In case there are multiple problems which a homeopath is not confident enough to reslolve, the only option perhaps is to refer hi to a more 'competent' homeopath. Even 'modern' medicine may be a better alternative than these poly pharmacy approches with homeopathic remedies.

George Vithoulkus says somewhere.

" If you can't resolve a case of pnuemonia within three days with homeopathic medicines don't wait any further and let him take antibiotics."

That is the most practical approach.

I know that there are many cases where modern medicine has no solution and patients come to homeopathy as a last resort after they tried 'modern' medicine. Such cases can definitely be helped with homeopathy as long as the patient's vitality is strong enough. The single remedy at a time approach only will help these difficult cases.

However it is impossible to treat such cases in a forum set up as we will be missing many details.

I am yet to see a single chronic case cured through these forums. Some prescribers may pat on their back with the assumed success they have in palliating the problem , but if you analyse deep enough there are really no 'cures.'

I many times invited the patients to share their 'sucess' stories on these forums but there are hardly a couple of responses. Those too are from those who used to take sides in the earlier debates we had, and not from 'disinterested' persons.

If at all there are some cures they are from 'one medicine at a time' approach only.

So my confidence and insistance on following the 'traditional' approach comes not only from reading books, but also from the results I get in practicing what I believe to be the correct way. I visit ALL the forums daily and the more I read the tales of the patients the more I am convinced with the futility of the polypharmacy approach.

We can debate further.

Weight Loss Ideas to Get That xxxx Bikini Body
Weight loss ideas and tips telling you how to get that hot xxxx bikini body can be found in a variety of places such as online, on television ads, magazines, and many other places. No matter how many tips and ideas you read or hear will not do you that much good unless you are following an exercise program and healthy diet along with these weight loss ideas and tips.
Being overweight can lead to some major health problems such as high blood pressure, heart problems, obesity, depression, and more. There are many fad diets and diet pills on the market that will promise to help you lose weight and while many of them do, the weight may come back if you go off the diet or quit taking the pills.
xxxx Swimwear - It's Never Too Early To Think About The Summer!
One thing to keep in mind in terms of xxxx swimwear is that confidence is the key to it all. Looking great in a swimsuit has very little to do with the actual swimsuit and a whole lot to do with how confident the person looks in it. A self-assured young woman could put duck-shaped water wings over as the next hot thing for summer if she had the right strut, so keep that in mind when rifling through the swimsuit collection. Get something that works right for you and you alone.
